Nelson Mandela turning points and achievements

-Turning points



-he was  not able to be a chief of his local tribe as he was involved in politics 


-at University  he was aware from unfair acts against black people


-in 1952 Mandela and Tambo opened  the first black firm in South Africa

-was imprisoned 



-Achievements
 -was the first democratically elected as state president of South Africa

-Mandela presided over the transition  from minority rule and apartheid

Nelson Mandela was an international figure of great  stature 

- he was the only politicians who went beyond politics and politicians role 

-he was awarded the Nobel peace prize

Essie Coffey biography 1942-1998

-1942 she was born near Goodoonga

-1950 she got married

- 1960 she was an ATSIC commissioner

-1960/1970 she worked in the health and legal service fields

-1978 she made a film called " My survival as an Aboriginal " and won  National and International recognition documents

-1991 co-founder of the Aboriginal heritage and culture Musueum of Brewarrind and had served on the first National Council for Aboriginal Reconciliation

-1985 was awarded the Order of Australia Medal

-1993 she wrote a literacy work "My life as I live it ".

-1988 she presented Queen Elizabeth with a copy of her film at the opening of the new Parliament house in Canberra

-1998 she died

Nelson Mandela biography

-1918 Nelson Mandela was born at Qunu near Umtata


-1944 founded the ANC  youth league


-1952 Mandela and Tambo opened  the first Black law firm in South Africa and Defiance Compaign




-1962 he was at prison


-1990 was released from prison

- 1994  was the first state president of South Africa

 

-1993 was awarded Nobel Peace Prize



- 1999 he  was retired as a  president



2013 Nelson Mandela died at 95 years old






Fred Hallows timeline



-1929 Fred Hollows was born in New Zealand.


-1960 Got  a job in Australia.


-1970 Launched a National program to attack eye disease.


-1980 Fred was travelling  all over the world to help set up eye health programs in developing countries.


-1989 Fred Hallows was suffering from cancer.


-1993 Fred died  surrounding by his friends.

I am Rita and I am  very happy that I am  participating in EFS classes  I think it's a great opportunity.
